RXT Transfer Switches

RXT Transfer Switch Spec. Sheet

A transfer switch is the “other half” of the generator equation.  The transfer switch is responsible for switching between normal power and emergency power.  The proper switch will be determined during a site visit for your specific application.

     • All RXT transfer switches are specifically designed for use with Kohler Generators       
       equipped with RDC2 or DC2 controllers.

     • A full range of transfer switch options are available from 100 amps to 400 amps.

     • Transfer switches come in standard as well as service entrance rated.

     • Standard enclosures as well as NEMA 3R enclosures for outdoor use.

     • All service entrance rated switches are rated for outdoor installation.

     • 100 amp units available with built in Square D QO load center for partial home standby

        systems

     • New units feature built in load management, contactors required.

Load Control Module

The Load Control Module is a separate device capable of electronically managing loads on the generator without user input.  Fully automated, the Load Control Module can manage two air conditioner loads as well as four standard loads of your choosing.  Pre packaged with four fifty amp contactors for managing loads such as dryers, pool pumps, electric water heaters, and even hot tubs.  Allows the use of a smaller generator where load calculations would otherwise require a larger unit.

The Load Control Kit is essentially the same as the Load Shed Module minus the enclosure and relays.  The unit mounts internally to the transfer switch and is used in cases when only air conditioners and one or two additional loads need to be managed.  A remote mounted relay box would then be used.

Integrated Load Control

Integrated Load Control  is found on the new RXT transfer switches.  The load control logic is built into the main circuit board and functions the same as the above two solutions.  This solution requires the use of remote mounted relay boxes would be used to control all managed loads.

This solution requires connection to your home’s always on internet connection, whether it be wired or wireless.  Every site is unique, so a one size fits all solution is not available.  We will determine the connection method that is best for your home.

Pre Cast Concrete vs. Poured in Place Concrete

Pre Cast Concrete pads offer an affordable solution for properly mounting you generator.  Pre cast pads are offered for all smaller KOHLER Generators.  At 3” thick, they provide an ample base to set your investment on.

Poured in Place Concrete offers many advantages over pre cast.  We can pour concrete almost anywhere and to any thickness.  If landscaping requires more elevation than can be provided with a 3” pre cast base, poured concrete is the way to go.  Other advantages are guaranteed ground contact with no settling after installation for a perfectly level generator for years to come.  With a nice beefy base, movement will never be an issue.

Horizontally Oriented, Air Cooled Unit

20RESD – Spec. Sheet

This is a dealer only unit not found on the KOHLER Generators website.  The 20RESD is identical in power and performance to the 20RESC but features an aluminum enclosure that allows the unit to be placed within 18” of a combustible structure.

Most typically used for whole home transfer on medium sized homes or as a partial backup solution on some large sized homes.
